Make this creamy, coconut-lime margarita for your holiday gathering. This recipe yields a festive, snowy-looking cocktail perfect for winter parties.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice, fresh squeezed
  • 1 oz cream of coconut
  • 0.5 oz triple sec or Cointreau
  • 0.5 oz heavy cream or coconut milk
  • Ice
  • Lime wheel, for garnish
  • Shredded coconut, for rim (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using, moisten the rim of your glass with a lime wedge and dip it into shredded coconut.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Add the tequila, lime juice, cream of coconut, triple sec, and heavy cream to the shaker.
  4. Shake well until the shaker is very cold, about 15 to 20 seconds.
  5. Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Notes

  • For a pitcher serving 6, multiply all liquid ingredients by 3 and mix them in a pitcher with ice just before serving.
  • Use coconut milk instead of heavy cream for a slightly lighter texture.
  • For a cranberry twist, add 0.5 oz of cranberry juice to the shaker.
