A tall glass filled with a frosty, bright pink watermelon smoothie, showing condensation on the outside.

Make this simple, refreshing watermelon smoothie in minutes. It uses only five ingredients for a hydrating, healthy snack perfect for hot weather.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cubed, frozen watermelon
  • 1 medium frozen banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup water or coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen watermelon, frozen banana, water or coconut water, and lime juice into your blender.
  2. Add the optional sweetener if you prefer a sweeter taste.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  4. Pour the smoothie immediately into glasses.
  5. Serve right away for the best texture.

Notes

  • For a thicker smoothie, use only 1/4 cup of liquid initially and add more as needed to reach your desired consistency.
  • If you do not have frozen watermelon, use fresh watermelon and add 4-5 ice cubes.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt for the banana if you prefer a protein boost instead of a creamy texture from the banana.
