Vegan Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Whip up a rich, creamy, and surprisingly healthy chocolate mousse. This recipe uses avocado to give you that luxurious texture without any dairy. It is a perfect treat for your healthy dessert cravings.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (or preferred liquid sweetener)
  • 1/4 cup plant-based milk (like almond or soy)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half and scoop the flesh into a high-speed blender or food processor.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, plant-based milk, vanilla extract, and salt to the blender.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides a few times.
  4. Taste the mousse. Add more sweetener or cocoa powder if you want a richer flavor.
  5. Spoon the mousse into small serving dishes or ramekins.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This helps it set up perfectly.

Notes

  • Use only very ripe avocados for the creamiest result.
  • If your mousse is too thick after chilling, stir in a tiny splash more plant milk.
  • Top with fresh berries or shaved dark chocolate before serving.
