Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides.
Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce is bubbling.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
If you don’t have an oven-safe skillet, you can brown the meatballs in a regular skillet and then transfer them to a baking dish with the marinara sauce before baking.
These meatballs can be made ahead of time and reheated.
