Ingredients
Scale
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
If using, pour in the white wine and let it simmer for about 1 minute.
Stir in the fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley.
Toss the shrimp to coat them evenly in the sauce.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra zest, add a teaspoon of lemon zest along with the lemon juice.
Adjust the red pepper flakes to control the spice level.
If you don’t have white wine, you can skip it or use a splash of chicken broth.
