  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and shreds easily.
  6. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  7. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and toss with the sauce.
  8. Serve hot.
