Slow Cooker Beef Brisket

  • 3-4 pound beef brisket
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the beef brisket generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  3. Put the seasoned brisket on top of the onions and garlic.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and smoked paprika.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the brisket.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender.
  7. Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve the sliced brisket with the accumulated juices from the slow cooker.

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce mixture.
  • You can also add your favorite vegetables like carrots or potatoes to the slow cooker along with the brisket.
