Ingredients
Scale
1 pound linguine or your favorite pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh basil leaves, chopped, for garnish
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Add minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, broth, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
Return cooked shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat.
Garnish with fresh chopped basil before serving.
Notes
Use good quality canned tomatoes for best flavor.
Adjust red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese makes a great addition.
