Ingredients
Scale
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 pound ground Italian sausage
1 cup marinara sauce
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 sheet (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pie crust
1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
Add ground Italian sausage to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in marinara sauce and pepperoni. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Divide the mixture among four 6-ounce ramekins or individual oven-safe dishes.
Unroll the pie crust and cut out four circles slightly larger than the tops of your ramekins.
Place a pie crust circle over each ramekin, pressing gently to seal the edges. Cut a few small slits in the top of each crust to allow steam to escape.
Brush the tops of the pie crusts with the beaten egg.
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
You can customize the fillings with your favorite pizza toppings.
For a vegetarian option, omit the sausage and add more vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives.
If you do not have individual ramekins, you can use a single 9-inch pie dish, adjusting baking time as needed.
