Ingredients
Scale
6 cups fresh peaches, sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, lemon juice, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour the peach mixture into a 9-inch pie plate or a similar-sized baking dish.
In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, oats, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt.
Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peach mixture.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
If your peaches aren’t very sweet, you can add a tablespoon or two more sugar to the peach filling.
You can add a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts to the crisp topping for added crunch.
