  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup matcha powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the matcha powder and about 1/4 cup of the whole milk until smooth.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the remaining whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is warm but not boiling.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Whisk in the matcha-milk mixture and the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the mixture into a clean bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled.
  5. Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
