3 Glorious Irish Coffee with Bourbon Secrets

Irish Coffee with Bourbon

Make a cozy Irish Coffee using smooth bourbon for a delightful after-dinner treat, perfect for celebrating special moments like New Year’s Eve.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 oz Bourbon
  • 1 oz Irish Whiskey (optional, for deeper flavor)
  • 4 oz Hot Coffee (freshly brewed)
  • 1 teaspoon Brown Sugar (or to taste)
  • Heavy Cream (chilled, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Warm your Irish coffee mug or heat-proof glass.
  2. Add the brown sugar to the mug.
  3. Pour in the bourbon and Irish whiskey, if using.
  4. Fill the mug three-quarters full with hot coffee. Stir gently to dissolve the sugar.
  5. Slowly pour a layer of chilled heavy cream over the back of a spoon held just above the coffee surface. This creates the traditional float.
  6. Do not stir after adding the cream. Serve immediately and enjoy the warmth.

Notes

  • Use high-quality, freshly roasted coffee for the best result.
  • Chilling your cream helps it float better on top of the hot coffee.
  • Adjust the sugar to match your preferred sweetness level.
