Iced Brown Sugar Latte with Shaken Espresso

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 shots (90ml) espresso, chilled
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

Instructions

  1. Make brown sugar syrup: Combine brown sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool completely.
  2. Brew espresso and let it chill.
  3. In a cocktail shaker or jar, combine the chilled espresso, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar syrup, and a handful of ice.
  4. Shake well until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
  5. Fill a glass with fresh ice.
