Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ball pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  • Lightly flour your work surface and stretch or roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness.
  • Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  • Arrange the mozzarella slices over the sauce.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, bake the pizza directly on the oven rack if you don’t have a pizza stone.
  • Feel free to add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
  • Adjust baking time based on your oven and desired crust crispiness.
