Ingredients
Scale
1 ball pizza dough
1/2 cup tomato sauce
8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
Fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
Lightly flour your work surface and stretch or roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness.
Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
Arrange the mozzarella slices over the sauce.
Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a crispier crust, bake the pizza directly on the oven rack if you don’t have a pizza stone.
Feel free to add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
Adjust baking time based on your oven and desired crust crispiness.
