Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon slices, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for minimal cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Spoon the honey garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
  6. Remove from the oven. Season lightly with salt if needed. Serve immediately with fresh lemon slices.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes to get a slightly caramelized top, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • This recipe scales well if you are making salmon for two or a larger group.
  • Serve this healthy salmon dinner with roasted asparagus or rice for a complete meal.
