Cheesy Air Fryer Egg Toast with Ricotta

Make quick, crispy, and cheesy egg toast in your air fryer, finished with a creamy ricotta layer.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick bread
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg and milk together. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides lightly. Do not soak the bread.
  3. Brush the air fryer basket lightly with olive oil. Place the dipped bread slices in the basket in a single layer.
  4. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the top of each slice.
  5. Air fry at 375F (190C) for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Carefully remove the toast from the air fryer.
  7. Top each slice immediately with 1 tablespoon of ricotta cheese.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use sourdough or brioche bread.
  • You can add a pinch of garlic powder to the egg mixture for extra flavor.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake this at 400F (200C) for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
