Amazing 12-Minute Crispy Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus

Crispy Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus

Make this simple yet elegant Crispy Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus for your next gathering. It is a fantastic appetizer that looks impressive but requires minimal effort. You will love how the salty prosciutto crisps up around the tender asparagus.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 pound), tough ends trimmed
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Optional: Balsamic glaze for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss the trimmed asparagus lightly with olive oil and a pinch of black pepper on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Take one strip of prosciutto and wrap it snugly around the middle of an asparagus spear. Repeat this process until all spears are wrapped.
  4. Place the wrapped spears seam-side down on the baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. You want the prosciutto to look crispy and the asparagus to be tender-crisp.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if you like.

Notes

  • Choose asparagus spears that are uniform in thickness for even cooking.
  • If your prosciutto slices are very wide, cutting them in thirds might work better.
  • For extra crispiness, you can briefly place them under the broiler for the last minute, watching carefully to prevent burning.
