Quick Steakhouse Creamy Horseradish Sauce

A small glass bowl filled with thick, freshly whipped creamy horseradish sauce sitting on a wooden table.

Make this easy, zesty horseradish sauce in minutes. It is perfect as a dipping sauce for prime rib, roast beef, or steak.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup prepared horseradish, drained
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the sour cream and mayonnaise in a medium bowl.
  2. Stir in the drained prepared horseradish, white vinegar, and Dijon mustard.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the sauce is smooth.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to your taste.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the sauce for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.

Notes

  • Drain the prepared horseradish well; excess liquid makes the sauce thin.
  • For a stronger flavor, use freshly grated horseradish instead of prepared.
  • Adjust the amount of horseradish to control the heat level.
