Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl. Do not let the butter brown.
In a medium bowl, combine the minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped chives, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes, if using.
Pour the melted butter into the herb and spice mixture.
Whisk everything together until well combined.
Stir in the salt and black pepper.
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve warm as a dipping sauce or drizzle over cooked meat or vegetables.
Notes
You can prepare the herb mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to two days. Add the melted butter just before serving.
For a richer flavor, use clarified butter instead of regular melted butter.
This sauce works well as a spread for crusty bread while it is still warm.
