Ultimate 3-Ingredient Cake Mix Cool Whip Cookies

A plate piled high with soft, crinkle-topped cool whip cookies generously dusted with powdered sugar.

Make soft, fluffy cookies quickly using only cake mix, Cool Whip, and one other ingredient. These require minimal effort for a pillowy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) cake mix (any flavor)
  • 1 container (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 large egg
  • Optional: Powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the dry cake mix, thawed whipped topping, and the egg. Mix until just combined into a soft dough. Do not overmix.
  3. If desired, place powdered sugar in a shallow dish. Roll spoonfuls of the dough into small balls, then roll each ball in the powdered sugar until coated.
  4. Place the dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
  6. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use a white or yellow cake mix for a classic flavor, or chocolate/spice cake mix for variation.
  • For crinkle cookies, ensure the dough balls are well coated in powdered sugar before baking.
  • These cookies are best eaten within 2 to 3 days for the softest texture.
