  • 12 fresh figs
  • 4 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or pistachios (optional)
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and dry the figs. Cut off the stem and slice each fig in half or quarter, depending on size.
  3. Arrange the fig pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the softened goat cheese with half of the honey.
  5. Spoon or pipe a small amount of the goat cheese mixture onto each fig piece.
  6. Drizzle the remaining honey over the top of the figs and cheese.
  7. If using, sprinkle with fresh thyme and chopped nuts.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the goat cheese is slightly melted and warmed through.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
  10. Serve warm.
