  • 1 pound boneless pork shoulder
  • 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 slider buns
  • Optional toppings: coleslaw, pickles, sliced red onion

Instructions

  1. Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, water, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the pork.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the pork is tender and shreds easily.
  5. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  6. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.
  7. Warm the slider buns.
  8. Spoon the pulled pork mixture onto the slider buns.
  9. Add your favorite toppings.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an even richer flavor, you can add a tablespoon of brown sugar to the sauce.
  • If you don’t have a slow cooker, you can adapt this recipe for an oven or Instant Pot.
