  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8-10 large lettuce leaves (such as butter or iceberg lettuce)
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Pour the sauce over the chicken mixture in the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  6. Spoon the chicken mixture into the prepared lettuce leaves.
  7. Garnish with chopped peanuts and fresh cilantro.
  8. Serve immediately.
