Close-up of golden-brown, seasoned Air Fryer Halloumi pieces piled on a white plate.

Make crispy, flavorful halloumi cheese quickly in your air fryer using smoked paprika for a savory kick. This recipe provides exact times and temperatures for perfect results.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block halloumi cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the halloumi block into 1/2-inch thick pieces. Pat the slices dry with a paper towel to help them crisp.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, oregano, and black pepper.
  3. Toss the halloumi slices in the spice mixture until they are evenly coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned halloumi slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; work in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through the cooking time, until the cheese is golden brown and slightly softened inside.
  7. Remove immediately from the air fryer and serve hot.

Notes

  • For best results and to prevent sticking, lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray before adding the cheese.
  • If your halloumi is not browning evenly, slightly increase the temperature to 390°F (200°C) for the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  • Serve this halloumi with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or alongside a simple yogurt-dill dip.
